The committee has done a fantastic job on raising awareness of the problems caused by litter and waste pollution and shown how small changes can make a positive impact on our environment. They have recently been awarded the first green flag based on the theme: Litter and Waste. This is a fantastic achievement for our school, congratulations and well done to all involved. The next theme we will be working on is Water. Water Awareness and Conservation is important for our future, not just Ireland’s, but the wider world. The Green Schools Team have created posters and raised awareness on the importance of reducing water waste, at home, in the school and the wider community. The Green Schools Committee also works closely with Ms.Hannon’s TY Horticulture group, which focuses on Biodiversity and reducing food waste through “Worms” and composting.
